Year 7 Science Rewards Trip to Monkton Nature Reserve
Posted on: 04/06/2024We are thrilled to share the exciting details of our recent Science rewards trip to Monkton Nature Reserve! Sixty of our Year 7 students were recognised for their exceptional progress in Science this year and enjoyed a day filled with learning and exploration.
The day began with a fascinating visit to the museum, where students had the opportunity to delve into the history and biodiversity of the reserve. The museum’s exhibits provided a deeper understanding of the natural world and the importance of conservation.
Following the museum visit, students embarked on a guided walk around the reserve. This hands-on experience allowed them to observe local wildlife and plant species in their natural habitats, fostering a greater appreciation for the environment.
One of the highlights of the trip was the time spent in the dome, dedicated to investigating renewable energy. Here, students engaged in interactive activities, learning about various renewable energy sources. They even had the chance to create their own renewable energy circuits, applying their classroom knowledge in a practical and exciting way.
This trip was not only a reward for our students' hard work, but also an inspiring educational experience. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and look forward to many more opportunities to celebrate and cultivate their scientific curiosity.
Thank you to the staff and volunteers at Monkton Nature Reserve for providing such a valuable and memorable experience for our students.
